MUSCAT: The Embassy of Nepal in Muscat organised a Labour Awareness, Trade, Export, and Investment Promotion event marking the 2570th Buddha Jayanti and International Labour Day.

The programme brought together 78 participants, including representatives of the Nepali Social Club, members of expert groups, Nepali businesspersons, rescue team members, and wider community members in Oman. The event served as a platform for information sharing and interactive engagement on community-led initiatives to promote Nepal’s export potential, investment opportunities, labour awareness, and the significance of both Buddha Jayanti and International Labour Day.

Reaffirming the Embassy’s commitment to economic diplomacy, Dornath Aryal, Ambassador of Nepal to Oman, emphasised ongoing efforts to explore investment opportunities while safeguarding the welfare of Nepali workers in Oman. He also highlighted the universal teachings of Lord Buddha and their continued relevance in promoting peace and harmony.

Bishesh Kumar Sah, First Secretary, delivered a presentation on trade, export, and investment opportunities, emphasising the vital role of the Nepali community in advancing Nepal’s economic interests. He elaborated on practical avenues through which the community can actively contribute to promoting exports and encouraged both individual and collective investment initiatives.

The launch of the handbook 'Shramik ko Saathi (Labour’s Friend)' was also held. The publication aims to provide essential guidance and information to Nepali workers, promoting safe, informed and dignified employment in Oman.
